Each human
being is a scientist and an artist in some way. We are
touched by ideas and enriched by beauty in myriad forms. As an
artist and a scientist we have two faces: that of a
creator, and that of a publisher. Artists don't create
works of beauty and then hide them away in a closet.
Scientist don't make discoveries and then put them on a shelf. They present their works to the world to enrich
the human culture. The same is true for writers,
designers, researchers, engineers, architects, gardeners,
homemakers, politicians, and so on.
In order to acknowledge the two faces that we all wear,
as creators and publishers, I have associated my personal
name with a second name, that of a publishing entity. The
publishing (company) name is Cygni. ( about
Cygni )
Cygni is the name of
a star in near the
universe. The name sets up a background my Web site has been
designed to focus on the often ignored fact that there
are no limits in those worlds where we live
simultaneously as discoverers and builders, creators and
publishers, providers and consumers. By embracing these worlds and their
infinity we find our universal bond to one another.
On the Web we are truly one as human beings, and boundless in our
individuality. No editor controls
what we see and what we share. No politician guides our
soul. The gates are open there, to both hell and to heaven: to
greed, hate, smut, and to love, generosity, creativity,
and honor, as share our humanity. On the Web humanity
faces itself. It has placed itself on display. However,
not all things are equal that seem equal. The horizon
appears infinite as we face the good that lies in the
heart and soul of humanity and its vast capacity for
building, discovering, creating, developing, and caring.
Only the domains of hate, greed, smut, and violence are
finite. Currently the dark domains act in so many ways like a black hole in space
that consumes worlds upon worlds. Thus, we have a choice
on the web. My choice is to seek and promote the good that humanity
embodies, that we all embody. In this is life and the
brilliance of it. In this we are rich, indeed.
